InfoSculpture Jeseniky is trying to explore shift from CAD (Computer Aided Design) towards CGD (Computer Generated Design). The initial shape was generated by scripting, manualy re-designed and later converted to physical model by CAD/CAM.First script works with volumes representing different functions inside the building. It generates and evaluates their combinations. Second script sculpts outer building skin in a way similar to mountain folding and creates indefinite number of variations. Model no. 16 was selected for final re-designing. The project has been created in Blender - modeling and animation freeware. InfoSculpture is a piece of glass architecture in heart of Jeseniky Mountains. It is housing tourist information service and provides a spot for internet connections. It's functioning is fully automatic with no need of direct human supervision. Electrochromic layer in outer glass shell controls amount of penetrating light. Tourist imformations and various structures are projected by integrated OLED display layer. The glass shell is composed of large curved pieces. During the construction the pieces are first layed onto temporary supports and titanium rim, fixed together and supports removed.
